Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death and the number is expected to rise continuously. The pressures on health care resources will also increase. We report on how the health outcomes of diabetes and the quality of care differ by age, gender and socioeconomic status. This information can be used to identify areas where disparities can be reduced and care can be improved.

We report on the following areas of diabetes care:

  • General (morbidity, health and functional status, and risk factors)
  • Access and Utilization of Care (care utilization and patient education)
  • Screening, Assessment and Monitoring
  • Health Outcomes
  • Pharmacological Treatment
  • Diabetes and Pregnancy
