Mandana Vahabi is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Community Services, Nursing Department, Ryerson University. She also holds a cross-appointment with the University of Toronto as an Associate member of School of Graduate Studies and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Nursing.

Her research and teaching program focuses on health risk communication, literacy, and population health in general and health disparities by age, gender, socioeconomic status, and immigration in particular. 

Dr. Vahabi has extensive experience in population-based assessment, planning and evaluation. She worked as a policy consultant at the Ministry of Health Long Term Care and as senior epidemiologist/ health planner at the Toronto District Health Council where she was involved in managing various system level projects such as "Heath System Monitoring and Evaluation", and "Toronto Small Planning Areas: A Population-Based Approach to constructing New Health Planning Areas in the City".
