Dr. Booth is based at St. Michael's Hospital (Toronto) where she is a practicing endocrinologist and a Scientist in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute. In 2000, Dr. Booth joined the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences where she is currently an Adjunct Scientist in the Drugs, Diabetes and Kidney Program group. She is also Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Health Policy Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. 

Dr. Booth's research has focused on quality of care and health outcomes related to diabetes, and more recently has delved into the relationship between the social and physical environment in which people live and the risk of diabetes. Among her numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications, she was a co-editor and lead author of Neighbourhood Environments and Resources for Healthy Living - A Focus on Diabetes in Toronto: An ICES Atlas. 

Dr. Booth completed her training in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at the University of Toronto and currently holds an Ontario Women's Health Council/Canadian Institutes of Health Research new investigator award.
