Geoffrey Anderson is a Professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, where he holds the Chair in Health Management Strategies. 

He is an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) in Ontario.  Prior to coming to the University of Toronto he held faculty positions at the University of Ottawa and the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Anderson has been involved in the development and reporting of health care performance measures since the early 1990's. He was an editor and a major contributor to the first two ICES Practice Atlases and is one of the original investigators in the Ontario Hospital Report Research Collaborative.  Currently he works with the Ontario Health  Quality Council on the production of their annual report on the performance of the Ontario health care system.

He is also involved in research on the real world safety and effectiveness of prescription drugs and the quality of care in long term care institutions.  His research has been funded by granting agencies in Canada and the United States and he has published extensively in scholarly journals. He has served on advisory committees to federal and provincial governments.
