Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi is an internal medicine specialist physician, with a special interest in HIV and a scientist and health services researcher at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He is also Director of Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Bayoumi's research interests include the delivery of health services, particularly to marginalized populations. He has worked closely with a large observational database of people living with HIV in Ontario, focusing on access to new drugs and technologies. In addition, his interests include economic evaluation, the role of equity considerations in pharmacoeconomic decision making, decision support using decision analysis, and quality of life assessment for economic evaluation of health interventions.
